Fax Ex-Machina
Art show organized in response to
Brazils 50% tax on cultural items sent to or received from another
country. A policy which prevents galleries from bringing in art. The
show was organized by Brazilian collective Autista and British gallery KK Outlet and consisted of two events running simulatneously at the KK Outlet, London and POP Gallery
Sao Paulo. Each event was connected via a fax machine which received
art created live at the other location. Received faxes were then displayed throughout each gallery. Really dig this concept. And
the use of fax machine, which feels way more dated than it should
considering they're still pumping out tuned up versions of these things.
